The Mangusta DR .049 is the result of over 5 years of development and countless hours of testing. The Mangusta DR .049 is like no other custom Cox engine you will ever find. We took the pesky reed valve out of the Cox engine and replaced it with a drum rotor(DR) intake that you can only find here at Halfa Works. That's right the Mangusta DR .049 is a rear drum valve induction monster. This is what the RR1 would have become if it was still made today. The Mangusta DR .049 is a combination of hand fit go fast parts and striking good looks. The Mangusta DR uses a shortened and lightened piston. The crankshaft has been balanced Killer Bee style and connects to one of our needle nose spinners. It will turn an APC 4.2x4 prop at over 20,000rpm.
